Main “Big Picture” Responsibilities at ETS

I support the development of online courses from a pedagogical perspective, integrating innovative educational practices supported by ICT tools to meet the learning goals of teachers within the Faculty.

Specific Areas of Interest in the Field of Educational Technology

My research interests focus on the cognitive affordances of gesture-based technologies, including touch-based technologies such as smartphones and tablets. I’m also interested in how research in Cognitive Load Theory and Self-regulated learning can inform how we teach online with respect to information presentation and metacognitive activities built into a course.

Your Work Within the ETS Office, and the Faculty of Education

As the quantity of online courses offerings continues to increase, managing course development while also ensuring course quality both from a design perspective and from a pedagogical one ensures that the courses we offer in the Faculty are both engaging and beneficial for student learning.

Interesting Tidbit

My favourite hotdog hails from Iceland, and I have been known to book layovers in Iceland specifically to eat said hotdog.
