Main “Big Picture” Responsibilities at ETS

I support faculty and staff with the use of learning technology. I also provide administrative support for the ETS office, which includes updating the ETS website, creating and managing workshop and event pages, managing ETS equipment, posting on the ETS Blog and social media.

Day-to-Day Tasks at ETS

Some of my regular tasks include: maintaining website and Twitter account; providing training sessions and tech support for different types of learning technologies (including Canvas, UBC Blog, WordPress, Kaltura Capture, Collaborate Ultra); video editing, enrolling students and issuing certificates for the Mental Health MOOC courses; front-line reception for the ETS office; taking meeting minutes; and other administrative tasks, as appropriate.

Specific Areas of Interest in the Field of Educational Technology

I am interested in different learning technologies to aid education. With the rising use of technology and media as an educational platform, the process of teaching and learning can be much more creative than the traditional methods of lecture. I am particularly interested in making course material more interactive and engaging for students.

Your Work Within the ETS Office, and the Faculty of Education

I am the first contact point when people visit our office and seek help. I also collaborate with and assist other ETS members with projects they are working on.
