Join us for the first event in our new discussion series: Viewpoints. This series of events will allow faculty, students, and other attendees to join members of ETS in exploring a range of pedagogical issues relating to teaching and learning with technology. The event will include a panel of at least one faculty member, one student, and one ETS Learning Designer. The sessions will be collaborative conversations with our panelists and audience members.

Our first event – “Cameras on, cameras off” – explores the issue of whether students, staff, faculty and others should be required to have their cameras on during synchronous sessions, or have the option to turn them off and remain unseen. At first glance, it may appear to be a binary issue, but upon closer inspection we see the complexities when delving into issues such as equity, student engagement, cognitive load, cultural considerations, and connecting to others.

Bring your viewpoints to this interactive session! We encourage you to attend and take part in the discussion, or else come simply as a silent spectator and watch the conversation unfold.
