With so many options for media support available to the faculty, we at ETS found a showcase to be an invaluable event for us to hold, as well as an excellent opportunity for the community to learn. In conjunction with AV services and UBC studios, ETS held two Media Production Showcases; one on October 10th to showcase AV and ETS support and one on October 11th to showcase UBC Studios support. Participants wandered through AV and ETS’ event interacting with the staff responsible with the support and also tried out any equipment we had available. The UBC Studios’ event showcased the different media production studios available to faculty.
These different options for media production has an incredible pedagogical impact, transforming the classroom into a virtual environment. Both event dates had such an incredible turn-out, and we are more than excited to host another showcase in the following year. When we host again next year, we encourage anyone who has the time to stop by. This opportunity would not only be valuable to faculty but also to staff and students, where it would be interesting to suggest options to instructors and also to learn about up and coming learning technologies. You can read more about the services we showcased under the additional resources below. We hope you all enjoyed our inaugural event!
