The App for December is Additio.
What is it?
Additio helps you keep track of all your classroom data, from schedules to grades to attendance, all on one platform. You can keep track of student grades, take notes, create lesson plans, sort students into groups by subject, create rubrics, store all your resources and link to files, collaborate with other teachers, and more. Additio is also free, and can be used on computers, tablets and mobile devices to accommodate you no matter what device you own.
What is ‘Additio’?:
Additio offers over 150 features. Here are four of the most useful features and video guides to get you started.
Keep your lesson plans organized by having them all in one place, in a calendar view.
Keep track of when students are absent or late with a simple click. Students are marked present by default, so you don’t have to edit each student’s profile when taking attendance.
Keep track of all your students marks by entering them in a grade book organized by assignment. You can even add a column for student behavior and comments.
Want to communicate with parents and students easily on one platform? Edvoice allows you to get instant feedback from students and their families with push notifications. It is also secure, to keep private information confidential.
Why this app?
Keeping all your work on one platform helps you stay organized. Need to takes notes during a staff meeting? Use the notes feature. Want to share your ideas and get inspiration from other teachers? Use Collaborate to distribute groups, structures, rubrics and lesson plans between teachers. Already using Google Classroom? You don’t have to go back and forth between sites – Google Classroom can be integrated with Additio. Don’t have internet? additio can be used offline!
How does it work?
The Additio app is available for download on the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. Go to the Additio app website and click on sign up to create a free account. Once you have created an account and logged in, you want to:
- Import a class list of your students. You can do so using the online editor as shown here.
- Once all your students are imported into their groups (Math, Science, etc.) you can click on a group to view the grade book. Each column is an assessment and each row is a student. To add a new column, click on the ‘+’ button at the top of the page.
- To toggle through different features such as attendance use the tabs on the right hand side.
